Why Organic?

earths-best-ingredientsChoosing organic is choosing to live a healthier life. Organic foods are produced without the use of potentially harmful chemicals and synthetic pesticides or growth hormones. This is even more important when we consider infants. For four to six months following birth, infants receive most of their nutrition from breast milk or infant formula. It is so important that these formulas contain the safest ingredients.

If ingested, potential toxic chemicals or heavy metals can lead to compromised immune system development. Likewise, young infants consume disproportionately high levels of fruits and vegetables when compared to adults. This increases their risk of exposure to potential contaminants found among non-organic products. Finally, Earth's Best products do not contain genetically engineered ingredients (GEIs), made by inserting genes from one plant into a strain of another to produce more crops or control pests.

Why organic? It is better for you, your child and the environment they will grow up in.

1.0 out of 5 stars Earth's Best Baby Foods/pouches contain Corn Derivatives, June 12, 2012
This review is from: Earth's Best Puree, Sweet Potato Apple, 4.2-Ounce (Pack of 12) (Grocery)
I don't usually write reviews but we have been struggling for a very long time, trying to figure out why our toddler constantly has a runny nose/sinus infection. We had her tested and she is allergic to corn. Well, one of the things we thought was completely safe and healthy to feed her were the Earth's Best pouches, but we were wrong - they contain Citric Acid, which is a Corn Derivative - it's not simply vitamin C - it's mass produced by using mold and corn sugars. If your child is constantly suffering from allergy symptoms and you just can't put your finger on it, try cutting out any product that has corn and corn derivatives (they do exist.) We found that the Peter Rabbit brand of fruit and veggie pouches do not contain ANY of the common allergens and do not use Citric Acid.

I'm giving them one star because they claim to be allergen friendly and they are not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use., September 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
Our son loves these! He has refused almost all baby food but I am sure would eat several a day if we let him.

They are extremely handy as I can throw one in the diaper bag and always have something on hand he will eat.

5.0 out of 5 stars 20 month old's favorite; very easy to use, July 20, 2011
This puree is awesome--no added sugar, etc., and my 20 month old ADORES it. She can even drink it like a smoothie, directly from the pouch and she gets a really big kick out of it. It's great for traveling (car, plane, etc). I bought just one pouch from my local store to try, and my daughter kept begging for more after the pouch was empty. So, here I am, ordering a case of it! :) Highly recommended.
